Critical.Mass

Critical.Mass speaks of forming community and also speaks of change. Saint Stephens is gathering around themes that connect inherited Biblical wisdom and daily life. Stories of work and relationships, art and creation are leading to that energy for transformation that marks the Gospel.

Critical.Mass on Sundays starts with Café hospitality at 10.00am and includes a healthy breakfast joined with community news and links to liturgy and altar.

‘Take, eat: this is my body’ – when we break the bread of Jesus and pour wine in celebration we are drawn into the ‘story-formed community’ that is both typical and critical. We are drawn by a call:

  • Critical.Mass that builds towards that release of energy that is the gift of the Spirit and creates new hope.
  • Critical.Mass that is celebrated by a community not afraid to embrace all about us, as well as being ‘salt’ with a critique confident of public gospel.
  • Critical.Mass knows this work of the Spirit crosses beyond our easy frontiers and changes our relationships with others, self and the cosmos,

This celebration of the Eucharist is creating a community from a small group. Anticipating things yet to come with new relationships and city links Critical.Mass is bringing together the stories of daily life, work, creation and arts.
