Study Days

It is important to us that we begin to understand what is going on culturally; filtered through the glasses of our faith. This is not exclusive to Christian Spirituality, but occurs when anyone attempts to interpret the cultural time that we live in: whether from a humanist, atheist, Marxist or any other perspective.

I am urging that…if the church is to be faithful it must be formed and ordered from the inside of its experience and confession and not by borrowing from sources external to its own life. Walter Brueggemann, ‘The Prophetic Imagination’, p5, Revised Edition, 2001.

The Prophetic Imagination

This does not mean to say that we limit our ‘reading’ to those who complement our way of thinking. We are not averse to reading Sartre, Camus, Baudrillard or Lyotard, we will read across the whole smorgasbord of thought: from many varying spiritualities, but as with any honest critique it will all come down to how we perceive the world, through the glasses of our faith, political or philosophical allegiances.

We are here to help those who are serious about their artistic and personal development, but our foundations are unreservedly Christian.
