Stations of The Cross

23 March – 4 April 2010 Stations of the Cross exhibition

A series of 15 contemporary carved painted panels by Saint Stephen’s artist-in-residence, Graeme Mortimer Evelyn. This touring exhibition was originally commissioned by Gloucester Cathedral.

Created with a contemporary worldview, Stations of the Cross is inspired by the works of Michaelangelo, German expressionist woodblock prints, modern film, graphic novels and independent comics. One of the panels, Resurrection, is featured above.

Graeme Mortimer Evelyn’s iconic the Bristol Reconciliation Reredos altarpiece has now been revealed at Saint Stephen’s and is open to visitors. The church is open daily.
