The welcome return of these top double bass players, with an exciting programme of duos and solos, original works and transcriptions. Including music by Henry VIII, J.S. Bach, Teppo Hauta-aho, Tony Osborne, Vojta Kuchynka and Giovanni Bottesini.

11 July: Heather Ungar-Diamant – poet and reciteuse

Yours Truly – An Autobiographical Letter. Heather performs her own poems and excerpts from Shelly’s Truimph of Life – “A true daughter of earth and water and a nursling of the sky” (Gore Vidal). Accompanied by Chai for Two on trumpet and guitar. Enchanting.

Baroque music from our popular regulars. Enjoy this newly researched baroque collection from the skilled ensemble. Continuo, violins, viola cello, flute, double bass and mandolin combine for concertos to delight.

25 July: Rosafresca

Members of trio Rosafesca with their instruments

Performance of Early Renaissance, Spanish, Moorish and Elizabethan music directed by Steve Walter. Experience crumhorns and cornamuse, vihuela, viola da gamba, lute and recorders –  passionately played. A precursor to the medieval pilgrimage recreation on the 28th July.
