An evening of music centred around a rare and magical instrument known as the “Hang”, a modern acoustic instrument designed in Switzerland which is having a profound influence on world music.
According to Wikipedia, the Hang is made from two steel sheets attached together creating the recognisable ‘UFO shape’. There is nothing inside the hang but air.
Original compositions and improvisations featuring:
Daniel Waples on Hang
Daniel Sanfey on Hang
Flavio Lopez on Violin (from Spain)
Mike Stanton on Piano
Zoot Lynam on Flute and Guimbarde
and Poetry and song from Kev the Poet
This event is part of Saint Stephen’s Bristol Reconciliation Reredos programme.
Suggested donation £5.00 but no one turned away for lack of funds.
This is really set to be a very special and magical evening.
Come, witness the beauty of this unique instrument in the beautiful 14th century setting of Saint Stephen’s church.
