Every Thursday from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, Canon Tim Higgins hosts critical.mass for reflection, discussion and contemplation.
Following the unveiling of the Bristol Reconciliation Reredos in January, critical.mass introduced the power of Reconciliation series.
Its first gathering focused on The Lamb and the Circle.
Afterwards, Canon Tim Higgins said:
“Tonight we worked with a dramatic image ‘The Lamb and the Circle’ and connected with the enslaving circles that capture us.
“In the experience of the slave trade, even the traders were enslaved and their humanity was corrupted. We shared experience of circles that enslave.
“We also connected with the wisdom in Christian inheritance that sees how the Lamb image of Christ is about breaking these abusive circles.
“Within the silence of critical.mass and the chant we broke the bread and shared the wine, taking in our own hands the energy that can break the circles and lead to new hope.
And, fittingly,” he concluded:
“Today was Holocaust Memorial Day.”
