19 October 2010: This joint event, with Bristol Libraries, marks Black History Month.
It is a rare opportunity to view and handle maps, manuscripts and engravings, usually stored out of the public eye in the libraries’ special collections.
As the harbour church which blessed the trading ships, Saint Stephen’s role – especially in trans-Atlantic trade – has created a complex legacy. Inheriting the harbour church for Christian mission, Saint Stephen’s wants to acknowledge both the wealth and wounds left by this legacy and respond sensitively.
Free event at Central Library, Bristol Reference Library, College Green, Bristol BS1 5TL.
Timed hourly sessions so please book.
