Review
We had a great review by food critic, Tony Benjamin, in Venue magazine.
Tony Benjamin writes:
“In a few moments we’re seated with a cup of mint tea and a few moments after that our meals arrive – steaming hot shakshuka for me and an enviable plate of mezze for my companion.
There’s no straight-from-the-tin dolmades, but a heap of homemade hummus, a light couscous salad, crisp falafels, salad and amazingly tasty and crisp pickled carrots. It’s all freshly prepared and, at just over a fiver, great value.
“But I’m not that envious because my plate of North African-style eggs poached in spicy tomato sauce with
salad and pitta is delicious and filling for the same price.
“It’s easy to forget you’re inside a church in the nicely
converted room – there’s only the arched windows and
occasional glimpse of a busy vicar to remind you – and you leave with the impression of having discovered a secret source of excellent food in a most unexpected place.”
